Rooms were very well taken care of but all the rest of the services were inconsistent or just plain bad. The leader of bad service was the Customer Service. With English as their second language, it became clear from the start that the "shrug your shoulders" routine was the first thing they teach you. Officers in charge made promises but few were kept. We asked for a simple deck of cards for the games room and were told that we should contact services. We waited but nothing came. When this simple process was screwed up, it became obvious that everything else would have little success.
Meals were predictable and non changing in the buffet room where many overweight people collected as the dining room offered limited quantities. Speaking of the dining room, the service was very slow at times depending which area you sat down in. We knew after a while that certain areas had better service and told the front desk that we will wait until the better areas were available.
Our room had a balcony whose window looked like a sheet of steel with a welder's cut of a 4' by 4' window. The floor area was hardly large enough for two regular lawn chairs. The room's air heating/cooling system appeared to be a recirculation of the room's air. The increase in heat or cooling appeared to have no affect on the temperature. It wasn't a certainty but it appears that the catching of a cold was related to recirculated air. The whole ship had some difficulty keeping the temperature comfortable and consistent.
First time visit proved entertaining and informative.
