This was our first cruise with Royal Caribbean since 1984 and it was our 8th cruise in total. We travelled from Canada with my husbands elderly parents. We arrived in Fort Lauderdale the day before our cruise and to save money we stayed at the Motel 6 in Dania. It was clean and had reasonable rates - we were pleasantly surprised.

Our embarkation in fort Lauderdale took over an hour which we were not used to having sailed mostly with Princess and their process was noticeably faster.

The ship is lovely but their attention to detail was lacking in a few areas (ie. no chocolates on your pillow; no champagne waterfall; little access to food later on in the evening at the Windjammer which closed early; no blankets, chair pads or popcorn while watching movies under the stars to name just a few and comparing with Princess ships). The public areas were very nice and well maintained.

Cabin Review

Promenade Stateroom

Cabin PR

Our cabin was very nice with a view of the Promenade. Had a great cabin steward in Mary Grace. We were relatively close to the stairs and elevators which was handy.

Port Reviews

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

We booked this tour at the Port after our Stingray tour was cancelled due to rough seas. Papi was our tour guide and he was excellent having live in Grand Cayman all of his life. We would do this tour again.

Falmouth

We just took a one hour taxi ride right from the Pier. Our driver was Xavier and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. Had a great tour.

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

We did not take an excursion in Fort Lauderdale because we know our way around having been there numerous times and love it there.
