This was my first cruise on RCI Granduer of the Seas, chosen because I took my mother-in-law and the port of Baltimore was convenient for driving rather than flying. She has sailed with RCI in the past and for her this was also a cruise down memory lane. Thanks to the unexpected 29 inches of snow dumped on Baltimore, we got an extra day at sea. Captain Tron did a great job of communicating with passengers in this unusual situation.

The best? The crew and staff. We had a great cabin steward and MDR staff - although we were any time dining, we went to dinner early and were able to get the same table almost every night.

The worst? Our room was noisy at night with strange creaks in the ceiling and had a tiny bathroom and horrible shower. And most of the cruise was cold - temperatures in the 60s in Florida.

Panoramic Ocean View Stateroom

Cabin PV

The cabin was small and noisy. Lots of creaking and weird sounds. The bathroom was small and the shower was tiny and horrible - I am not big, and found myself wrapped in the clinging curtain or mopping up water on the floor the first time I tried it. We used the shower as a handheld after that. I found the bed a bit hard and lumpy, but mostly slept well. The winter storm Jonas had us rocking and rolling most nights!

Our cabin steward was wonderful and kept our space clean and comfortable.
