My husband and I are both first time cruisers so were not sure what to expect. We got on in Auckland, we live there so just got dropped off, embarkation was so smooth, we were on the ship in half an hour and our bags delivered within the hour.
We had an interior room in the middle of the ship. Perfect, no rocking. Ours was slightly bigger as we had the wardrobes at the end of the room. Bed made with fresh sheets every day, turned down at night, towels changed 2x day.
Service from all the staff was amazing, so polite. One waiter we had was a bit grumpy, think he needed to move on and get off the ship.
Photos - if there is a package deal take advantage of it, - we did and ended up with amazing photos, formal and casual.
We did anytime dining so got to meet new people every meal. Once we had dinner in the main dining room when it was our anniversary, we got a cake and they sang happy anniversary to us.
Excursions, we did our own thing except my husband did the weta workshop tour thru the ship in Wellington. In Dunedin we did do the Larnoch Castle tour which also included a hop on hop off ride around the city. That we went to the information site and booked.
Entertainment, we went to a variety. Check your daily patter and highlight what you would like to do or you will miss out on things,
We went to the Crown Grill and Crab Shack - both which you pay extra for $25pp and these restaurants are well worth the money.
Disemarkation day - again so quick and simple.
