I have been on this ship several times. Age, and needing the refit really shows now.
Getting on and off was no problem. New Orleans is usually no problem.
Some of the waitstaff and crew were good. Some were not interested. Now this makes me mad as I like to tip to folks deserving, especially a good steward. I booked and paid for this in May 2015. At that time I could have the Norwegian daily gratuities taken off by guest services. Since then not only has the payment gone up, but guest services can't remove the charges. I did not learn of this until Saturday after I had been tipping the deserving. The current procedure is to email a form to Miami HQ and hope they give you a refund. Are we betting I get $189 back ?
Carpet dirty and stained. Drapes worn out. Ceiling creaks and rattles whenever ship is under way, or a wave causes a roll. Balcony door header creaks when underway. Balcony railing not attached at one end. Ready to fall off. No varnish on rail. I have a photo of railing if interested.
This was my third or fourth Dawn trip. The worst of the cruises.
