This was my first cruise and I went with seven other girls, two who had cruised before. We went on the Pacific Eden and were really excited until we started seeing all the negative feedback, but decided this was our trip and we would enjoy being in each others Company.
The embarkation was easy, travelling from Sydney Central Station by taxi took about 20 mins and cost around $30. Staff were very friendly, professional and guided everyone in the right direction. Our boarding was delayed 2 hours but ship still set off at 6pm. We were able to have something to eat once we boarded.
The food was great, tried most of the restaurants and ate in the waterfront and pantry as well - all really nice, great choice, not big portions but you could go back for more and we never encountered any line ups. The only line ups were at the Coffee/Ice Cream where you paid $3.50 for a small coffee and it was excellent. We tried Salt Grill - superb - food was excellent as was the service. All staff in every restaurant were very friendly, polite, professional. It would appear that P & O took on board the feedback as I or anyone in my group could fault the service.
Cabin was very clean, comfortable, beds were so comfortable and bed linen of a very good quality. Cabin staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. Everything we needed was in the cabin - we didn't spend too much time in there (there was a fridge and two power points)
Brilliant arrival for the cruislings - band playing welcoming us to Mornington. We hired mini bus (12 seater) from Avis - brilliant service and drove to the Peninsula springs which were fantastic then had a late lunch in Sorrento
