So we booked this cruise because a group of friends out of Charleston invited us to go on a cruise vacation with them. It has been years since we sailed with Carnival because we primarily sail Royal Caribbean. In fact, we just completed a RCL cruise less than 3 weeks ago. So I would say that we are very experienced cruisers.
We did check out the reviews prior and we saw quite a few bad ones. Initially, we thought the reviewers were being nit picky or didn't understand how cruising works. Well.....the bad reviews were spot on.
First, the parking sucks and not because it was $85. It was just an overall pain to park. When you get to the port, there is someone there checking to see if you have cruise documents. Then you are directed to another person a few feet away to actually check your documents. Then you go another few feet to some that inquires if you have your bags. If you do, then they put a sticker on your car. Then you are directed a few more feet to prepay the parking fee. Then you go a few more feet to be given bag tags to complete. Then you are directed to go to yet another person a few feet away who actually takes your bags to the ship. Then we follow the signs OUT of the parking lot then back INTO the parking lot to finally park. Never mind that this was a ridiculously tedious process. It was also very confusing with all of the red cones every where.
Awesome time. Found this taxi driver at the port and he took us all around the city
Save your time. Nothing to do here
