The flights to Fort Lauderdale were uneventful. The hotel was as expected since we have stayed there many times. Embarkation was fast and painless. Arriving at the terminal at 10:45 and on the ship by 11:15. Thought this was not our only Celebrity cruise it was the first on this class of ship.

In my opinion the cruise industry has reinstated the class system. Separate dining rooms and perks for suite and aqua class, makes for a division that is unnecessary on this type of vacation.

Now the good bad and ugly. The ship is beautiful and well appointed. Everything is clean and well taken care of. Two things stood out for me comparing the Royal Caribbean experience. The fact that the senior officers were all mingling with the guest every evening let you interact with them and tell them how much you are enjoying the cruise or make suggestions for improvements, of which there couldn’t be many. I was surprised after talking to the Hotel Manager; we received a bottle of wine a dish of strawberries in our cabin from him. What a nice touch. Another difference was that all the restrooms had an attendant who was always cleaning and the fact that there were linen hand towels. Not just paper towel dispenser.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda 1C

Cabin 1C

Good location. Forward but not to far from the elevators. Plenty of storage.

Port Reviews

Puerto Limon

Good overview of what the port had to offer

Colon (Cristobal)

visited the old and new locks. The engineering is amazing.

Cartagena (Colombia)

Walking tour of the old town and excellent guide. Needs to have ear pieces because there are many tours and many guides so sometimes the narrative gets lost.

Cartagena (Colombia)

Excellent view of the city from the hill. Gold museum is not open on Mondays and different venue was added instead.
