first time with NCL cruise and first time as a solo cruiser, the epic has a number of solo studio cabins, cruise lines finally catering for lone guests with single cabins take a bow NCL

NCL transfer excellent, embarkation around noon looked like bedlam but took around 20 minutes, excellent considering the number of passengers boarding

the studio cabin is compact but as I do not spend much time in my cabin no problem for me. I do not think the designers have maximised the space as they could have and the shower was ok for me - average height and build - but anyone bigger might struggle

Cabin T1

compact and practical and comfortable, persons of a large build may struggle though

Port Reviews

Sardinia

well run, interesting and excellent guide

Palermo (Sicily)

second visit to Sardinia - not impressed with Cagliari or countryside

Naples

took a taxi to pompeii - very interesting unfortunately our taxi driver went from being our best friend to walking off in a huff. we agreed a price and pick up time at the port when he dropped off at pompeii us he shortened the pick up time which we met but he then want a large tip which we declined

Rome (Civitavecchia)

stayed and looked round Civitavecchia having done rome a few times - quite a nice place

Palma de Mallorca (Majorca)

lovely place, we did our own thing,

Florence (Livorno)

took a mini bus 320 euros for 8 people - 40 each, we made a crew of 7 - 45 euros each

excellent driver well worth a decent tip, Florence is well worth the visit and most things are pretty central
