We have cruised on 7 cruises, with the 5 most recent cruises on Royal Caribbean. We are Platinum Crown and Anchor Members. The Adventure of the Seas sailed out of San Juan to the Southern Caribbean. With some negative comments about this ship, we remained optimistic. And not to our surprise, This Cruise Met All of Our Expectations. Embarkation took less than 1 hour from arrival until check in, which was not surprising considering the high number of guests arriving simultaneously. We found the food to be excellent in all locations. The Windjammer buffet had 25 plus choices of meals for breakfast. Meals in the Main Dining Room were also very good, with exceptional service from Savio (Head Waiter) and Samar (Assistant Waiter). We also had dinner in Giavanni's Table one night.
The condition of the ship was very clean (staff were constantly cleaning). We did get the Ultimate Drink Package, and found that service by bar staff was generally very good. The only bar that appeared to be very slow was the Champagne Bar, where the bar staff appeared to cater to the regulars (those that frequented most of the week). The Sports Bar and Solarium Staff were very good.
Entertainer Derek Lewis at The Dog and Pup was very entertaining. Regarding disembarkation, Total time from Exiting the Ship to hailing a cab to the airport was no more then 45 minutes, which is good considering the number of guests leaving. We had a porter assisting us with our luggage which expedited the process.
Our cabin was very clean, and Shauna (Cabin Steward) kept the cabin cleaned whenever we left the room, complete with towel figures. Our only issue was that the air conditioning had trouble cooling during very hot/humid temperatures. If the balcony door was kept closed, it appeared to work better. The November 2016 Refurbishment may improve this.
