I am shocked that people actually consider a cruise a vacation. From start to finish, the whole thing was stressful. In order to get on the boat, you have to wait in multiple long lines and then wait until your # is called to board the ship. Once you get on the boat, you can't access the rooms because they haven't been completely cleaned yet so you're forced to wade through the congestion of people and find a spot for a couple of hours. There are lines for all the food, the bars, the entertainment, etc. Getting off the ship was the worst experience of my life. I received the earliest disembark number (#1) so I could get off the ship at 8:15am. Waited in line for an hour and a half just to get to customs, then customs only sent 3 officials to service our 3,000 ship guests (I realize this is not Carnival's fault). Waited another 3 hours to get through customs, waited 30 minutes for a ride to the airport. And then found out 5 other ships had come into port so the tiny Ft. Lauderdale airport was backed up significantly. Waited another 4 hours just to check a bag and finally got out of FL. Never again. TRUST ME PEOPLE, I've gone on vacations that are just as inexpensive and have found it to be 100 times more relaxing.

The room-vile. I'm sure in 1985, pink crown molding was the "it" color but it is 2016! We had an aft balcony room and the decor was so old and worn you could tell it was going to be a miserable 6 days. The bathroom was most dismal. There is a little triangle stand shower with a flimsy curtain that water would spray out onto every surface. Also, why would anyone want to turn the lights on from the outside of the bathroom? The blowdryer that is provided in the room is like a child's play toy. It lets off hot air but there is zero blow power. If you choose to go on a cruise (God forbid), bring your own blowdryer. The last 2 days of our cruise were interesting because a smell from the kitchen or dining room had swept into our room for hours (think chicken fried steak). We cranked the air and hoped it would dissipate by the time we had to go to sleep. You can hear almost everything in your rooms. One night we were attempting to sleep and the entertainment (best orgasm scream) continued to wake us up. It was humorous considering the disturbance so we just laughed it off; but fair warning!

The food-it was average at best. You can tell the minute you walk to the buffet or the dining room that the servers are trying to get you in and out as fast as possible. It doesn't make for a relaxing environment at all. The food is never hot and never tastes exactly right. There is something off about each meal. I ordered a basic caprese salad and the mozzarella was funky and curdled almost. For breakfast, I always did my standard eggs over medium with an english muffin. The muffin was chewy every single day and not properly toasted. I guess it is my fault for ordering the same thing but it's what I prefer and I made due. With the exception of the molten cake dessert, the pizza and the burgers, the food is less than stellar.
