After cruising on the Triumph many times, I have come to expect a certain level of service from a Carnival Cruise. This was my 1st time on the Freedom and I was expecting some changes, but was not happy with the ones I experienced. The room steward was not as attentive as usual. It took 3 requests over 2 days to get a bucket of ice to chill wine. He also knocked on several occasions as to hurry us out of the cabin so he could do his thing.
The Dining Room staff were not what I have come to expect. At every Dinner someone at our table got the wrong food or did not get what they ordered. Also the food itself was less appealing. I ordered Prime Rib and it looked and tasted like it was just popped out of a cellaphane package. Even the desserts were not as good as before.
We had a rocky ride a couple of nites and I found out later it was due to a mechanical problem....I don't get seasick, but several I know did. The new system for assigning arrival times to board seemed to work out well. It only took about 30 minutes to get on board.....
Clean and comfortable...
Just some shopping at the port.....
