this is our fist time on a Norwegian ship and we liked the star. our pervious trip was on the carnival paradise out of the same port. The difference was night and day. The boarding process was seamless. the staff at the port were very upbeat and friendly. once on the ship. we went to our balcony cabin. The cabin was in the front of the ship and sadly felt the motion of this ship. it was a nice cabin and was well designed. the only negative was the water pressure in the shower could have been better and there were only 3 or channeled on the TV. No one goes on cruise to watch TV but at night I like to watch TV to unwind.

The show were very good and the comic was funny without being vulgar. The pool area was large and I like the fact that pool was more than three feet deep. I also liked the fact that the waiters were not pestering me every 5 minute to buy drinks but were available if I wished to by an adult beverage. The band on the pool area was one of the high lights of the trip. They played every afternoon. They were loud enough to hear but not too loud that you could not talk to the person next to you. They deserve a special recognition.

All of the ports of call were very good. The shore excursions were all as advertised, but I don't recommend the calypso train tour. the train is an open trailer and is loud, you can't hear and the exhaust fumes are to much.
