Background:
We sailed on the NCL Escape on 1/9/2016 in a Haven forward penthouse suite. I made this reservation approximately a year ago for my family of four. The reservation was accepted, a deposit made, and final payment was made three months before departure. Three weeks before our cruise commenced, I received a call from my travel agent regarding my reservation. Through an error by NCL, the room we reserved apparently only held three people, despite being advertised and sold as a four person Haven suite.
The proposed solution was to split our reservation into two rooms. I indicated this was acceptable to me as long as everyone in my party retained Haven privileges. I was assured by both NCL and my t/a that all four passengers would retain Haven privileges. I asked my travel agent to follow up in writing on this agreement. I also followed up in writing and received assurances from the pre-concierge desk the ship had been notified of this change and Haven status for all guests.
The room was fine. It had a master bedroom, master bath and small living room. The room also had a small hull balcony. My first cruise with a hull balcony. Although it was smaller than most balconies, it still had a good view and was nice for two people.
