We just returned from seven glorious nights on the Carnival Glory. Since we live in Georgia, we chose to drive down the same day as our departure. The embarkation process could not have been easier. We arrived at about noon and dropped off our luggage. I stood in line while my husband parked the car in the garage (a little over $100). Be aware that you will need to pay for the parking prior to the trip, not after. We were onboard within about 30 minutes. We did pre-register our Sail & Sign cards and had our Funpass before we arrived, so we sailed right through.

This was our second cruise, the first being on a much smaller ship for a four day cruise. So we were amazed with the size of the ship. The "lobby" area of the ship was amazing 6 stories up with three glass elevators. Our staterooms weren't ready yet, so we made our way to the Lido Deck for lunch. The first line we came to was burgers, hot dogs, nachos and fries. We found out later that if we had headed back a bit farther to the next restaurant we could have a more buffet choices. But the burgers and hot dogs were excellent, so we were satisfied. It worked out perfectly because as soon as we finished lunch, the announcement was made that our staterooms were ready.

We were on Deck 1 which actually turned out to be a perfect location. We were closer to the front of the boat - close enough to the elevators for convenience, but not too close to be bothered by noise or traffic. It was a perfect location because at all of the ports we exited the boat from the front of Deck 0, so we always had easy access. After we found our rooms and dropped off our carry on bags, we went exploring. By the time we had made a complete tour of the ship, it was time for the muster drill smooth and easy.

Cabin Review

Perfect location on Deck 1 toward the front of the ship! Quiet and easy access to get off the ships at every port. Nice room with nice, big window. Why pay extra for a balcony when you're very rarely in the cabin?
