We were a group of 4 women. Three of us had traveled together before. We flew into Amsterdam two days befor the cruise. Unfortunately the luggage for two of us did not arrive with us. So, we went shopping. Viking was wonderful about this, especially because it was the airlines issue. We were given an allowance. This gave us an extra chance to see more of Amsterdam as walkers. We found the appropriate stored to buy the few items we needed for the night and next day. The next afternoon our luggage was delivered. The hotel was wonderful. We spent two very nice days touring Amsterdam.

We were picked up by buses to take us to the ship. Our cabins were very nice and clean. The ship's staff were excellent. One of our group is hearing impaired and they found a loop system for her for the shore excursions, which made it so much better for her so that she could hear the tour guides. On several occasions upon returning to the ship after an excursion, we were greeted by the staff with welcome back drinks.

All of the shore excursions were well done, with knowledgeable guides. So much history in each of the towns and cities. Such interesting architecture. So different from here in the USA. We were fortunate that the tulips were in full bloom. The farm we visited had so much vivid color with rows and rows of tulips, that it almost hurt your eyes.
