Im going to be a little detailed for the embarkation process and later the disembarkation. The middle part i just want to comment on some suggestion or opinions. We arrived at the Miami airport approximately 10:15 am sat morning, got our luggage jumped in a cab which is a flat rate $24 it takes 15 mins to get to the port (now about 11am). When you exit taxi they will ask you your stateroom number, and take your checked luggage( this is free). Hold on to carry-on for meds, change of cloths, etc.
Embarkation was very smooth. They screen your carry-on bags,( no alcohol allowed, deal with it, thats their policy) check ID, fill out a quick health questionnaire. Then at the desk they take a quick picture, they ask for a credit card number to have on file. You are then sent to a waiting room where they give you a room key for everybody in your party, then take a seat until they call you row. They allow latitude members on 1st, then you board first come first to get on board. They started boarding about 12:30. As you start they snap a pict for later purchase not mandatory, sanitize your hands, then your on board. They give either glass of champagne, or orange juice. Nice touch. John the cruise director shook our hands and welcomed us aboard. They allowed you to set your carry-on bags in Dazzles bar while you eat, or swim, or look around, while waiting for our room to be ready. They mentioned many times that our rooms would be ready at 2pm and that was exact time they announced they were ready.
1. Many people have commented about the service fees which are $12 per day person. I found this reasonable in that most everybody on our cruise was given an on-board-credit. Ours equaled $150 each, then an extra $50 each which i believe was a fuel refund, so for 2 of us we had a total of $400 OBC for the week.
