This was our second time on Princess. The last time was 10 years ago. Since then we've been cruising with Carnival; but decided to give Princess another try. It is a beautiful ship; but lacks some conveniences. There definitely needs to be more elevator and stairs. Also, the elevator lights are not positioned where you can see which elevator lights up. You can only see it from one side.
We did "anytime" dining; and the service was not up to our expectations. It was slow; and the food was awful and the portions were very small. We only dined in the dining room twice on the 10 day cruise. Also, they are very strict with the dress code. Men "MUST" wear long pants every night; and we did not pack accordingly. There were no exceptions!!
The buffet was OK; but got boring after awhile. They are very adamant about cleanliness around the food; and even have someone standing at the door - reminding you to wash your hands and/or Purell; which I thought was great. However, the room stewards that clean your room do not wear gloves. I saw them carry out dirty towels from rooms with their bare hands - then they go on to the next room to clean. This was very disturbing to me; and I wanted to get Clorox wipes; and clean my own bathroom. They also carry a bucket of water from one room to the next; using the same cloth to clean the next bathroom. For this reason; I will think twice before booking on Princess again. I was very sick the first night on the ship (not from motion sickness); and now I wonder if germs (e coli) was spread onto something I touched.
Room was sufficient; but bathroom is very tiny; and hard to maneuver around.
We were taken to Grand Turk; and the beach was closed; but we were not notified until after we paid $20 for a chair/umbrella. Margaritaville drinks were more expensive than the ship; and their service was slow. This seemed like a tourist trap.
Mi Dushi - very unprofessional crew. Equipment was cheap and/or broken. Music was vulgar. Snorkeling locations were lacking fish. Crew not attentive to guests.
