Entering the facility where they check your papers, etc. was uneventful. Seemed to have an efficient staff. Upon boarding the ship we were greeted by a very friendly staff offering sparkling wine or juice. Live piano music was playing. We had thought this was going to be a most enjoyable experience. Our balcony room was very clean and cozy. We had lunch at the buffet which was mediocre and the set up not very efficient to serve the many hungry people. We had proceeded to wait at the pool where everyone was gathered before leaving the port. The band was playing great music. We had participated in the required safety drill and then went back to the pool to enjoy with other passengers the ship's departure from the port. The other passengers were very friendly along with the staff. No complaints there. This was the most enjoyable time of our cruise. We only had the opportunity to get off at one port, Nassau. Ok but not our cup of tea. We were a little nervous in the downtown area as there were some seedy looking characters. And hey, we come from Chicago, so we are not imagining this. We know how to spot them. They kept us on board for their island stop. We were looking forward to a beach day, however, they had told us we could not disembark due to the waves. It didn't seem too "wavy" to us, but what do we know. It was a huge disappointment. The pool area and beyond was soooo crowded. That is when the people started hoarding chairs and spaces. We were lucky to find two chairs together to lay out in the sun. Eating at the specialty restaurants was a rip off. We do not mind paying extra for good food and service. We did have very good service but that is where it had ended. I had had the worst lobster in my life of 50 years! It was disgusting. It totally disintegrated in my mouth. Yuk! We are not people who whine or complain. Everything else was just ok. Would of rather eaten at Red Lobster! The steak restaurant was the best one, however, we were not able to get a reservation or even on a waiting list the last night as it was so booked. Guess everyone else thought the same. The buffet for other meals was another disappointment. We were looking forward to good food as that what everyone else says about cruises, that they loved the food. We had probably lost weight on that cruise. We could go on about warm, smelly milk, etc. but think we had made our point. What a waste of time and money. Getting off the ship was uneventful. We couldn't wait to get off and get something decent to eat!
