My son (7 yo), mother (early 60’s) and I (36) cruised on the Carnival Breeze January 10-16, Western Caribbean itinerary. I’ll go into a lot of detail about what I thought was good/not so great about this cruise but overall, we had a wonderful time! The Breeze is a very nice ship with lots of activities to keep all of us busy. Our balcony cabin was nice, basic but clean and comfortable. The ship rode very smooth, hardly any roughness or rocking. It was my son’s first cruise and I was slightly worried about seasickness but had nothing to be concerned about. The entertainment options were good, we enjoyed the live band karaoke (I even sang once) and the shows in the main theater (we saw 3 out of 4). All our port activities were amazing. Here are the details, I’ll break them up so you can read or skip the parts that may interest you:
Embarkation –
It was a mess. The ship was delayed boarding due to high winds and adjustments that needed to be made to the gangway. The lines were extremely long everywhere, even though we got there about 11:30. Line to get in the door, security line, HUGE line to check in, line/wait to board. It was a very poor start to the cruise and I was a bit disheartened. We didn’t board until about 1:30. And we were lucky, I saw some people come in after us that had to wait outside for a while in a downpour. They were soaked! I hope Carnival switches very soon to fleet-wide staggered boarding to avoid this in the future.
Nice cabin, loved the balcony. Minimal noise. See my main review for more details.
Very busy in the shopping area. Nice beach.
long lines to get on the ship.
