We have cruised Azamara many many times, and the rating we normally give is between 5-6*
This Xmas cruise we would put at 3*
The crew as usual were excellent..... shame the rest of the cruise doesn't fit that description.
The Food... It was Boring and monotonous, both in Discovery and Windows, Not up to the Azamara usual standard.
The Officers dinners they were fantastic, the menu and company was worthy of a 6*
Entertainment unfortunatly was really poor, we have seen the same shows each Azamara cruise we have been on, and we sailed a total of 51 days with them in 2015.
The Cruise Directors (CD ) Russ on the Quest and Eric on the Journey, are amazing, the shows were never the same, even with the same limited area etc, they had a twist on their shows that kept them fresh, but the ( CD ) on this Xmas cruise and the previous 37 night cruise in May through Europe was Tony, and on both of these cruises he failed to step up to the job......
His very impressive resume, reads as long as your arm, Doctor, Lawyer, Account etc etc, and most comments were they feel he might have been better at one of those positions, but NOT a Cruise Director, and that is what we needed on our cruises, someone capable of organising entertainment, both at night and during sea days...
He states that interaction with the passengers is essential
Cabin was fine, bathroom small but we knew that....
