Having been to most ports in the Caribbean several times, we wanted to experience one of Royal Caribbean's super ships rather than the ports. The ports included Labadee, their private resort on the island of Haiti, Jamaica (Falmouth) and Cozumel. We did enjoy Labadee, but spent little time in the other ports. Most of our time was spent experiencing the many venues on the ship.
Summary of Ship Experience:
Pictures and descriptions fail to properly describe the enormity, engineering and beautiful interior design of the ship. The "Neighborhoods." the Promenade, Central Park and the Boardwalk, were fascinating and had unique aspects to each making them interesting to walk through and enjoy. Although the ship was large and had nearly 6000 passenger, it never felt crowded nor did we have to stand in lines to dine or enjoy the entertainment venues. One very important point. Make your entertainment and dinning arrangements as early as possible - before getting on the ship. In this way you can enjoy the different entertainment venues and have dinner when you want. Never had a problem finding pool chair. Also, bathrooms were easy to find and food venues were were within easy reach EXCEPT from your cabin. The one criticism is that the elevators were quite a hike from our cabin. And if you took the wrong elevator, it was quite a hike to get to the other side of the ship.
Cabin was typical cruise ship cabin - small with insufficient storage.
