We went on the 3 night Sky cruise (Feb 20-23,2009)for a combined DH birthday and our anniversary. The cruise went out of Miami. Our taxi dropped us off out front, gave bags to the porter and walked right in at 11am. We were on the ship by 11:20am. There are signs in the elevators and when you walk on the ship telling you no rooms are ready until 2pm. They had doors closed on each hallway to keep you out until then. At exactly 2pm the Captain announced rooms were ready. So, plan your carry-on with this in mind. We thought the ship was decorated nicely with lots of color. I had read on Cruise Critic how some people thought the artificial flowers everywhere were tacky, I thought they looked fine. I had purchased the Anniversary package ($79) and the Bday decorations($30) for the room. The streamers, balloons and cake were in the room when we arrived. The wine, strawberries and paper for the anniv. package arrived around 3pm. We used the coupon for Le Bistro the 1st night. The food was great. I had lamb chops and hubby had chicken. We are not wine drinkers usually, but I enjoyed the white wine that came with the anniv. package. We were given a cake and the waiters sang a song to us at the end of the meal. Very nice...

We purchased the Segway excursion and were told to meet beside the gangway at 8:15am when we arrived in Nassau. We were the only ones who booked the tour. The Segways were fun, but I was disappointed in where we were taken to ride them. I thought we would be in a garden with scenery. You are actually in the woods driving on bumpy and rocky trails with trees, trees and more trees. The guide was very nice, though. We were supposed to be in Nassau until 6pm. They were doing repairs and we were told they needed more time. The Captain made an announcement at 6pm that we would be staying until 2am. All onboard activities would go on as planned. The White Hot party was a lot of fun.

Sunday was our day on Great Stirrup Cay.I had read on here that it was usually very crowded and to go to the right side of the beach when you get off the tender. The main beach is small and crowded but you could find a quiet area if you tried. We liked the island and enjoyed the clear water. You didn't even need a snorkel. I was able to see fish and a squid just by walking out to deeper water. I did see something disturbing while sitting at a picnic table next to a drink stand. I watched a worker bring back a helmet with empty beer bottles and a used cup with a lid. Another worker threw the bottles away but took the lid off of the cup, sprayed it out with the garden hose and put it with the clean cups.Gross... We ate in the Palace dining room Sunday. I had pork loin and DH had the Salmon. We were told by our anniv. package that between 5:30-6pm we would receive our canapes. We got to the room around 8pm and no canapes. I called room service and the guy did not know what I was talking about. He said he would have to talk to his Supervisor and would call us back. He never called us back and at this point it was too late to worry with. Before we disembarked my DH said he wanted to talk to the desk and let them know we didn't receive the canapes from our package. The staff at the desk told my Dh that they tried to deliver them in the evening but we had our Do Not Disturb out so they took them back. THat was not true and we feel that room service made that up to keep from getting in trouble for not delivering them. No big deal...though.
