Although there were over 900 passengers onboard, the thoughtful and intelligent design of the ship made all aspects of the shipboard experience feel intimate. I always felt as if I were dining in a small to midsize restaurant. I liked the variety of locations and cuisine that were available for dining. The food was consistently very good, but I was especially impressed with the dinners at Manfredi's, which I thought were equal to those at the best Italian restaurants in New York City. I found the menus at the Chef's Table to be disappointing; a little too nouvelle and pretentious for my taste.

I really loved the Viking Star and was sorry to disembark after 15 nights. All of the public areas on the ship were beautiful and comfortable. There were so many inviting spots that I did not have the time to visit. I will be looking for another opportunity to travel on this ship.

I found all of the service to be excellent onboard and all of the staff to be knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.

Cabin Review

My cabin was very, very comfortable with a lovely veranda . It was beautiful and spacious with lots of closets and drawers. I think the extra expense for this stateroom was well worth it. Friends that I met onboard complained that they had very few drawers and could not believe the difference in the rooms when they saw mine.
