The Epic is a lovely ship and has many qualities but it was mainly designed with sun in mind and the lack of inside lounge space where you can sit on a cold (freezing) day in Naples means that the seats in the buffet are hard to find and you are better off in your cabin - at least you can watch the tv. Like all cruise ships, large areas are given over to the photo shop and art gallery but you do wonder how much these are used nowadays and the library is tiny compared to the size of the ship. Why the casino takes up so much space is also perplexing - perhaps also a design for trips down to Mexico or the Carribean - again not something that has had too much use on these European cruises.

Entertainment is excellent with good venues.

I have been on a good number of cruises and with few exceptions have not found a more disinterested crew who are either unwilling or unable to communicate with the passengers.
