Well the ship was beautiful, no complaints there but to start off we'll not go on Holland Amer. again. This was their second chance and they failed again. Service and food were our complaints. A very few servers new how to serve we'd say 95% did not. We think much of this is do to pre-tipping. They new they were getting a tip so why care. You could tell them every day the same thing and they just didn't care. Here's an example my husband has been recovering from surgery and we went to use the pool and in the pool was a baby with a diaper on, which is a no no, it's printed several times in your cruise documents that the child must be trained before they can enter the pool. We went to the pool attendant and asked him to please do something, well he did he told the family to remove the diaper, so guess what the child could go in the pool and do whatever. Well this is against health code, we then reported it to the main desk and nothing was ever done, needless to say most of us did not get in the pool all week, we did not need to get sick. To the next item, we bought a soda card for the week they treated me like a leper because I bought the card, it wasn't free I paid for it, also I wouldn't rec. it, they put it in a tiny little 6 oc. glass. Now to the food if you like cafeteria quality food they've got it, no quality, such a disappointment. The seafood in the dining room was dreadful, I tried it 3 times and couldn't even eat it. Several times I had to spit out what I ate and that is disgusting. I've taken approximately 8 cruises mostly Celebrity, I also just read the review on the Solstice which was our other choice and didn't sound like their food was much better. Why can't we have less choices and better quality. Whatever you have to do to get better quality. One guest that we ate with said to return the food and have them make it over like he did, the problem with that is the fish wasn't of good quality to start with, so it wouldn't have done any good. I took so much food just to get a couple bites of something that was edible, no thanks, we're not going on Holland American again. Oh by the way my husband uses a cane and you know how they chase you around to take pictures, we couldn't get ours taken. He needed to hold onto something for support so we decided on the staircase balustrade one evening, the photographer just didn't get it that he needed to hang on for support, after several attempts at trying to explain this to him we ended up walking away totally embarrassed and everyone else knew what we were trying to explain and they were embarrassed for us, we never did have our picture taken. The shows were just so so, they were stretched pretty thin with help. The music by the pool was only maybe 4 times for one hour for the whole week. They were also the same band for the shows at night. Very disappointed in the lack of entertainment, everybody complained about that. Well I could go on but won't, I think you get the point.
