We arrived in New York the night before our cruise departed and were able to see a few of the sights before we boarded the ship. We found embarkation a little chaotic, but once a few minor issues were ironed out we found boarding to be ok and we were soon on ship and enjoying all the amenities. It was a while before our cabin was ready, but we were able to have a delicious meal in O'Sheeghans whilst we waited.

Our cabin was soon ready and we weren't disappointed when we saw it. It was an outside cabin with obstructed view, but it was roomy and had plenty of storage. Our bags arrived around 5ish and we were soon unpacked and ready to have a bon voyage drink in one of the bars.

We had the ultimate dining package and had made our reservations on line at home which was convenient. This all went really smoothly. Our first reservation was in La Cucina, the Italian restaurant. The food was delicious as it was in all the speciality restaurants and the service was attentive without being intrusive. We would have breakfast in the Pacific Moon restaurant and lunch in the Buffet where there was plenty of choice and something for everyone.
