from the start this cruise was not what I had hoped. the boarding was delayed due to computer problems. you had to walk up a flight of stairs to get into the ship. It was cold rainy and windy which made this a real chore. You could use the elevator but that took quite some time to go up the one floor to the proper level. The buffet food was just fair to poor. it was always cold or lukewarm. The scrambled eggs were always undercooked, the bacon was cold the toast was cold. If you ate in the dining room for breakfast it was a bit better. Dinner was good, the service was fair. I needed to ask the server every meal to refill my water glass, since I drink quite a bit of water at my meals. Our table mates had coffee, never did I see the waiter come back to see if they wanted more coffee. Never did they come back to see if we wanted more rolls with the meal..like they did on RCCL. Our cabin had a leak in ( what I think ) was the refrigerator. We got back to our room to find the giant blower in the room. they just left it on. I flagged down a steward to ask him how long it needed to be on .. and he really didn't know. he said 20 minutes. so we sit there waiting for someone to come remove it. This is at around 930 at night and I wanted to go to sleep. So I unplugged the unit and put it out in the hall. wouldn't you know it, the next morning the carpet was soaked again. luckily it was disembarkation so I don't know how this story ends I only saw a few of the entertainment events. one was of the blues brothers. a review. well the 'entertainers' were the cruise director and the assistant cruise director. The assistant director couldn't sing a lick. he was just awful. on RCCL the buffet area was always decorated with beautiful watermelon carvings daily..the midnight buffet was an extravagant event. on this ship it was just a slightly jazzed up buffet meal of Mexican food. no fancy fruit carvings or displays, just one ice sculpture. someone said this line is the K mart of cruises. and I believe it. I wont cruise with Carnival again
