Cabin: The Haven Aft-Facing Penthouse with Balcony

This cruise was with a family of 4 (2 older adults + plus 2 over 18 adults). We have cruised many times having done NCL (Latitude Silver), RCI (Platinum), Celebrity (Platinum), HAL (** Mariner), Oceania (10+), and Silversea (2).

For this cruise we booked an AFT Haven Suite Deck 14272. This was a first time in the Haven so I will address some specific comments below.

Embarkation: We arrived at 1130h and check-in was quick using the small Haven check-in room in Terminal C. We move to a small lounge which was filled and then escorted to a larger lounge upstairs that had limited seating. Boarding at 12 noon – was disorganized as we were in Terminal C and had to board through the Terminal B gangway. Of course to get there we had to march with luggage in tow through the mass of people waiting and having the scowling look “why are these people boarding now and we are not.” Not good but at least we were not one of the thousands in the hall waiting.

Cabin Review

The Haven Aft-Facing Penthouse with Balcony

Cabin H6

Cabin had a king bed (which I found great and DW did not like) a sofa bed in the living area that was made up for two. Room attendant was great and he was always ahead of us and room was spotless.

Cabin came with a butler who we saw very little except to drop cookies at 4pm and clean the Espresso machine. This is a disadvantage of physically being so far from the Haven. The espresso machine was great – especially since NCL nickels and dimes you with espressos that cost $2.50 each. AFT cabin had a great deck with 2 loungers and a table with 4 chairs – this is the advantage of the aft suite. Also the aft provides a deck that is usable when underway as there is a zero breeze in the stern of the ship.
