Kiwi contribution! Our New Zealand based "gang of 4" (Ma & Pa 67 yo & 2 single adult kids - 24 & 29 yo.) are all mega travelled (especially EU/Asia), but hadn't taken a significant ocean outing for decades. We live harbourside in NZ's capital city (Wellington), and with sun, surf & adventure galore at our door there's not normally much motivation for organised offshore outings. In fact the last decent cruise us oldies had was back in pre jumbo jet days 45 years ago!

This NCL "Escape" Caribbean offering however caught our eye, since it neatly completed our 4 week family visit we were making in southern USA & Florida. The cruise weather was calm & "just right" warm, & although the ship tended towards a floating shopping mall we all greatly enjoyed the 2016 cruise experience! Next time however it may be on a smaller vessel!

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BD

Our initial 9th floor interior cabins were well set up, but a tad stuffy. Our adult kids however spent so much time partying that this was rather incidental to them! After a few nights we asked for a move & were given a magnificent 14th floor balcony one at no extra charge. (This had been found noisy by previous users, but we suspect it was little more than the coathangers clacking together!). Such balcony cabins are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for ventilation & views, especially if you find crowds a hassle.
