Cabin: Aft-View Extended Balcony

This was our 9th Carnival Cruise and one of the worst. We find that the management of the ship leads the way and customer service was very poor. We avoid the main dining room as the food is generally poor and pay the extra for the Steakhouse which we are happy to do and did so 4 times.

Cleanliness was an issue with hairs all over the shower when we checked in and they no longer serve Tanqueray Gin on Carnival, instead offering Hendricks, Bombay and Bulldog. The mini bar had drink taken and the bottles resealed and none of the glass was clean.

The Steakhouse was excellent and Adrian in the Main Dining Room even made my wife a curry.

Cabin Review

Aft-View Extended Balcony

Cabin 8M

After travelling with many cruise lines we were shocked when we walked into cabin 7442. The cabin is less than 185 sq ft and is not big enough to fit a sofa next to the bed. In short it is the smallest 8M aft extended balcony cabin in the fleet. Despite the ship being 12 years old and us working out it was the incorrect size within seconds of walking in they made us measure the cabin. Carnival have now confirmed that all aft cabins on deck 7 are actually less than 185 sq ft.

The 2 worst are 7442 and 7447 which can only fit one chair between the bed and the wall. Whilst we were disappointed with other aspects of the cruise the most important point for fellow cruisers is beware booking an aft on Deck 7. Carnival acknowledge the cabin is the wrong size and will give you a credit and discount off a new cruise but if you know the situation there is less chance of you being caught out.
