This was our sixth Princess Cruise and the second time aboard Emerald Princess ( 2009 )
Embarkcation was a breeze mainly due to our Platignum membership. However, when we arrived at our cabin (Superior Balcony on Caribe Deck midships) we were disappointed with its size compared to other cruises taken recently with Cunard, Celebrity & P & O.
No sofa bed for daytime use.
It was a celebration of our recent Ruby Wedding and to say the least, we "survivied" this 8 day cruise.
Our cabin steward was excellent and tried to make us as comfortable as possible.
1 No hot water for the first 4 days from shower or basin - we understand that at least 40+ cabins were affected on Caribe deck.
2 Air Con not operating properly - cabin too hot and needed 4 visits from maintenance staff.
3 Fridge in cabin not working.
The food in the DA Vinci dining room was average but could not complain concerning the service provided by our waiters or Restaurant Manager.
Considering that the ship had recently been in dry dock for a minor refit, it felt "tired" and many problems were still being sorted.
Enterainment onboard was good and no complaints in this area.
We have always regarded Princess as an upmarket product but after this cruise, I don't think we shall be returning in the near future.
