This is my third cruise I've been on, previous liners include Celebrity and Holland America. I had high hopes from the beginning but overall nothing except our stop in Key West lived up to our expectations. I would make note that the staff is friendly and do the best with the hand they've been given.

The ship is scheduled for an upgrade next year and is showing it's age. The pools and hot tubs are small for a ship with over 2,000 passengers. I didn't mind the decor, but the room was smaller than I've had on previous cruises and the TV's had more channels for advertising the cruise than anything else (more than 5). Of the others, there were more Spanish channels than English and both had poor reception out at sea. This typically wouldn't matter but we had poor weather on the trip which meant we needed more entertainment options, more on that later. The on board spaces (bars, library, relaxing areas) were comfortable and provided a nice outlet.

The biggest disappointment for us was the dining. The Windjammer was below average being that most of the food seemed less than fresh and either dry or covered in a heavy sauce. The speciality dining options we're better but we didn't want to pay the extra fee for every dining experience. The dinner service was average. The food descriptions rarely matched what we got.

Port Reviews

Nassau

It was raining off and on for this stop. We were at the port from 8 am to midnight. We definitely didn't need that much time. There are some historic things that you can walk to and a nearby beach. Right outside of the port is very touristy. I would recommend Queen's Stairs, the John Watling Distillery and the Bahamas Art Gallery.

Key West

We loved Key West. The weather was lovely and there were plenty of things to do. My only complaint was that we wished we could have spend all day there. We were at the port from 10 am to 5:30 pm.
