We enjoyed our five night cruise, but would never do one again. We are spoiled and need seven nights! The five days went by too quickly! Our first day was rainy, but there was plenty to do on board. Our second day was spent in Key West. Loved the trolly tour partly because we had such a good guide. Ate at Red Fish, Blue Fish and walked over to Kermit's (per the guides suggestion) and had some great key lime pie. The time went by too quickly in port! The next day at sea was relaxing. There was plenty to do on board, but my husband and I choose to spend most of the day on our balcony. Cozumel was a disappointment. This port has really changed over the years. Docking is too far from town (Taxi $5). When you get to town the shopping is "tacky". Pre-Wilma this was a much better town. Now it is a series of small shops (mostly silver) with people outside trying to get you to come in and buy. Not all change is good. The last day at sea again was very relaxing. We were fortunate to be at the "end" of the boat. It was cold up on deck, but because our cabin faced south and the sun was so bright, we were actually "hot". We enjoyed the shows nightly and visited the lounges. My husband spent more time that I in the casino and had a good time. I spent a little time shopping, however there is little shopping available on this ship. The ship is older and in places shows it's age, but she is a grande dame and is lovingly taken care of. We asked for a small table, but were assigned a "big" one. All of the people at our table were wonderful, and we enjoyed their company. It's a great way to meet people from all over. One thing we did find we all had in common - we all hated "free style" dining. We spent a good part of one dinner talking about how "superior" the assigned seating was. (No wait for a table, waiters who cared and knew what you wanted - not ones who knew the tip was automatic no matter what, a staff that worked for you, timely service - someone else was coming after us, instead of having a meal stretched out so the waiter waited on less people, etc) Breakfast and lunch were a form of open seating, but it didn't have the "free style" feel. We still felt valued and the wait staff hustled (and knew people that were stationed with them at night) I have to admit I miss the small touches. The chocolates on the pillows were a nice touch I missed. It felt kind of "cold" not having them. Also, last time we had a suite, we had individual bottles of shampoo and body wash. A dispenser on the wall (we paid for a suite not a "Q" room) didn't make me feel like a valued customer or platinum I member) As an aside, I must say I felt more valued by Princess this past summer because of the chocolate on the pillow and the little packets of shampoo conditioner and hand cream. Over all a great cruise. Would do again, but prefer a few more days. This was my 9th cruise. 7th on Royal

Cabin Review

Junior Suite

Large cabin, nice size bathroom (with tub) and more storage space than we could use. TV was very small, but then we didn't go on a cruise to watch TV. 'frige stocked with soda, if you wanted it. Somehow we had an electric kettle in the room. As a tea drinker, I loved the hot cup of tea whenever I wanted it. End of the ship JS meant that the balcony was twice the regular size = "patio". Above the South Pacific Lounge, but very quiet and peaceful. Nothing like sitting outside at night and watching the water churning behind the ship before going in and being rocked to sleep in bed. This room is worth the extra money spent. Four people could easily share it (queen size sleeper sofa and more than enough storage).
