Family of 4 on the 8-night New Year's Eve Cruise. We booked this cruise because we live close to Baltimore and were able to drive to the port on embarkation day, which is great. Embarkation was easy and well run.

We had connecting balcony cabins on deck 5 forward. The cabins themselves were good, however the location is TERRIBLE. They are directly above the Taj Mahal and Butterflies lounges and we could hear music thumping most of the time until very late. It did take away from our experience. Also, we felt the rocking of the ship most of the time being in the forward part of the ship and it is sort of a long walk anytime you want to do anything in the back of the ship, such as dinner in the MDR.

The service on the ship was hit and miss. Our room steward was not very good. We asked for wine glasses in our room and she told us we needed to get them ourselves. We had a few maintenance issues with our 2 cabins (balcony door wouldn't open and refrigerator broke) that were taken care of rather quickly. Also, there was a shortage of waiters on the pool deck, so I waited for drinks more than I ever have. The bartenders at the Alchemy bar were the best, though, and the entertainment staff was awesome. The dining staff, for the most part, was good.

Don't book any cabin in the forward on Deck 5. You will hear the music from the lounge below all the time.
