Sail Date: Dec 2015
Cabin: Aft-Facing Balcony Stateroom

This was our first cruise on a mega ship and with Norwegian. We have been on 5 other cruises, two with Dolphin in the 1980's, one on Disney Big Red Boat in 1995, the last two on Princess 2013-14. We went with friends and their family on this cruise. Overall it was positive. The Getaway is a beautiful ship, clean. The design of the casino amoung shopping and dining on decks 6-8 is awful due to the smoke. The atrium where they have the game shows is way too crowded and smokey, nearly impossible to get a seat or move around. All of these activities should have been in the theater or large nightclub.

The staff was attentive. The weather was outstanding, low 80's the entire time which is unusual for a December Caribbean cruise.

Embarkation: was a breeze, got to the port at 10:30 am, no lines, literally walked to the boarding waiting area on the ship. We were on the ship about 12:00 and had a wonderful Cuban lunch at the Flamingo Grill, highly recommend it.

Cabin Review

Aft-Facing Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B1

The balcony is massive, well worth the money, we are really spoiled now.

Port Reviews

Great Stirrup Cay

We walked around, went later in the early afternoon, took one of the last

tenders back, and enjoyable time.

Ocho Rios

We had been here before, walked around for some shopping nothing special.

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

We walked around the town, had a few drinks, nothing special.

Cozumel

Again walked around the town, was able to buy beer for $1.50, which was $5-6.00 on the ship, nothing special.
