This was my second cruise and it was a party of 8 of us from Virginia. We reserved 4 cabins (an inside, ocean view, balcony and a handicapped inside cabin) We planned this cruise 6 months in advance and embarked out of San Juan, PR and were set to sail on the Carnival Liberty. We were all very impressed with the welcome by the cruise staff, they had champagne/non-alcoholic drinks and lunch waiting for us when we arrived at about 1pm (ship was set to sail at 10pm). Carnival Liberty has all that one would need to enjoy a week aboard the ship, including some exciting ports and activities.

Meals were some of the best times, Guys Burger Joint was fantastic! We enjoyed the seated dining each nice also, Our server Junior was awesome, very attentive! Our stateroom was spacious and very clean. I loved that our room was attended to in the morning and during turn down service at night. Our room attendant Duncan was very attentive and helpful in all we needed. We also enjoyed the nightly towel animal on our bed.

We took in many shows onboard and enjoyed daily shopping at each port and the local beaches. With 8 of us involved, including teens and elderly adults there was plenty to do as well as plenty of relaxation time. Within a few days of being back we were already looking into our next Carnival cruise. Love it!!

Cabin Review

Ocean View

Cabin 6A

The cabin was very clean and spacious. The room attendant kept us stocked with fresh washcloths/towels and beach towels twice daily. I loved the convenience of a mini-fridge stocked with water and beverages.

Port Reviews

St. Thomas

We had a botanical garden/food tasting/rum tasting/island view/shopping excursion. It was really nice! We took an open bus tour

St. Thomas

The tour bus driver was very knowledgeable and took us to a very inexpensive souvenir shop that had rum drinks/hats/shirts/magnets/key chains/jewelry and tons of other things.

St. Thomas

We got to try about 10 different local favorites and well as 40 different types of local Cruzan rum. I only tried about 3 flavors of rum and the local favorite banana daiquiri before I had enough alcohol : )

Barbados

About 6 of us took a taxi to a local beach. It was really nice, loved the blue, warm water. We had to rent beach chairs/umbrellas for $15 per pair of chairs. The beach area had some shopping and a snack stand.
