Because I wanted to be away for Christmas I was limited to which cruise was available. Consequently the destinations weren't the greatest, and there were too many days at sea for me, although I know that's the part that many people enjoy.
No complaints about the cabin (a mini-suite which was great) or Renato who kept it spotless. Staff, almost without exception, were good - very friendly and mostly efficient.
I have read and heard some complaints about this and other cruises and really people - what do you expect? It is a cheap holiday that provides accommodation, entertainment, all meals, where you hardly have to lift a finger and you get much better attention than when staying in an hotel. I'm a reasonably fussy eater but always found something to enjoy and dining room staff were accommodating in changing items if asked, e.g. I wanted a vegetable that was shown on the menu with another dish and that was easily accommodated. Let's face it, if you didn't enjoy the meal in the dining room there's always plenty of other choices elsewhere on the ship pretty much around the clock. And dining room staff are always willing to change a meal if you don't like it, so maybe the critics need to take more responsibility and ask (nicely) for what they want instead of suffering in silence and criticising later.
