What a great time we had on the Thomson Dream for the transatlantic cruise 'Beyond the Sunset'. We chose to embark in Gran Canaria, then enjoyed stops in La Gomera & Cape Verde before crossing the Atlantic to the Caribbean.
I'll admit to having reservations about the 5 days at sea but 36 hours were shaved off this due to a medical emergency on bored. However the days went quickly & were enjoyable. We're not ones to join in with quizzes or games so can't comment on that - otherwise the entertainment was quite good.
The food was very good; we ate breakfast (when we wanted breakfast that is) & lunch in the self service Lido. Yes it could be busy - especially on sea days. But if there's a queue go & sit down, have a drink, read another chapter of your book, etc & the queue will be gone next time you look. In the evenings we ate in the Orion - we enjoyed the smaller, rear section of the restaurant & were ably attended to by Mario & Kumar most evenings. Not forgetting Tony the wine waiter with his endless bottles of red & white wine. We always found there to be plenty of choice in the Orion & enjoyed thoroughly whatever we ate.
Great cabin. Mid ship so perfect location.
Ample storage space. Had small settee & chair with coffee table plus large (very comfy) double bed.
