We were very pleased with many things on this cruise but because we felt the food was not as good as it could have been we could not give an excellent rating. What we liked about the cruise was our cabin was roomy with a decent size balcony. The sofa was a bit worn looking but the rest of the furnishings were nice. We felt the ship had enough activities and particularly enjoyed the live shows in the theater and the movie options.

The negatives were the food, it just was not very good. The Windjammer (buffet) had many ethnic options almost every day and evening. All of the beef dishes were overcooked and one evening the chicken was very undercooked and bloody. I showed my piece to one of the staff and they removed the chicken from the buffet. The 2 dinners we had in the dining room, Reflections, were average, none of the food was served hot and the second night we ate there a waiter never arrived at our table. We were very rushed to order and eat by one of the supervisors who took our order, so we did not dine at Reflections again on this cruise. We heard many complaints about the food and someone told us that they heard that this particular ship was a training ship and that was possibly why the food was just so-so. This may just have bee a rumor, but even if it is true, there had to be experience chefs on board teaching and the food should have been much better.

The other problem we had was that the cabin next to us had a young couple that smoked on the balcony frequently which was very unpleasant for me as I liked sitting on the balcony and reading on cruising days. I contacted guest services about this as did another guest 2 cabins down from the smokers on the other side. I was told that when they went up there to confront them the do not disturb card was in the door so they could not talk to them. When I called again 2 days later I was asked if I could actually see them smoking and I told the guest services rep that they were not where I could see them without looking around the balcony which I would not do, but I could hear them talking, saw and smelled the cigarette smoke. The desk called me back a while later and said they called up to the smoker's cabin and they denied that they were smoking. It was very frustrating and annoying not to be able to sit on our balcony. If the cruise line has rules about smoking and fines that are imposed if they are smoking why are they not enforcing them?
