I just returned from a Galapagos cruise with Celebrity. The cruise itself is 7 days but the package includes 2 nights pre-cruise at the Mariott in Quito and 1 night post-cruise at the same hotel.
The cruise package is all inclusive. That is including pick up at Quito airport (private transfer). Hotel stay, tours, breakfast, lunch and dinner plus luggage transfer from hotel to airport to ship. Everything is seamless and headache free. The flight from Quito to Baltra is a Special chartered flight by Celebrity for all its passengers. Passengers were in a special VIP lounge at the airport with drinks and snack. There is even a table cloth for meal service on the plane. Very classy!
The ship only accommodates 95+ passengers but has over 70 crew. Only one small dinning room where breakfast, lunch and dinner is served. Very friendly, helpful service and decently good food.
The cabins are decent size. All has window or balcony. Ample shelves in closet for clothing and accessories. His and her closets.
All shore excursions are included with a naturalist - maximum of 16 people in each group. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Let us take time to take photos at each spot.
Entertainment is simple but nice. All passengers gather for information slide shows, or Karaoke or dancing with all the staff.
Disembarkation is also very organized and smooth. All luggages delivered from cabin right to the hotel room in Quito.
One of the best cruise I ever had.
(I have cruise almost everywhere with quite a number of cruise lines and this one is very impressive)
Tips: Travel light - bring your best hiking shoes, water shoes, water hikers and neutral coloured clothing. Best if they are washable and easily dried. Hat, sunglasses and tons of sunscreen is needed. A camera with lots of zoom!
