This was my 10th cruise, but my first with Norwegian and my first bad experience. Breakfast and dinner in the main dining room took 2-2 1/2 hours every day. Items would arrive cold or sometimes not at all. The food was only so-so. Every dinner had broccoli. Ala mode meant a little dollop of whipped cream and the chocolate lava cake was nowhere as good as Carnival's. We never saw our cabin steward until the last night when he came around looking for a tip. We couldn't get in touch with him because he said his phone was broken and they weren't giving him another one. He never brought us ice. We had one tiny night table and a very small desk. No other hard surfaces except a few small triangle shelves sticking out of the cabinet that held the TV and refrigerator. There was rust in the bathroom. The entertainment was good, but I've seen better. The daily newsletter did not give any details about disembarkation, and two of the ports were tethers. We had to go up to the pool deck to get tether numbers the morning of the disembarkations.

You had to make reservations for the dining rooms and I kept getting different information each time I called. First they said you had to go either 5:30, 6:30, 7:30, etc., instead of 6:00 like we wanted. They told me there were no more reservations available at 6:30 and that we had to go at 8:30. The next person told me 9:00, even though I was previously told reservations were only on the half hour. There were six of us and they next said that only 4 of us could go at 6:30 in one dining room and the other 2 had to go to another dining room. I finally went to the reservations desk and saw the reservations board and they had plenty of availability in all the time slots, including 6:00, in both dining rooms. I was finally able to reserve 6:00 for the six of us in the same dining room for the entire cruise, which, by the way was the 7-day Western Caribbean and not the 14-day like the heading says.

Needless to say, none of us will be going on Norwegian again.
