The cruise started with a computer shut down on embarkation which caused many passengers to wait in the terminal 2-3 hours; there was no backup system to recover from this problem. Many passengers were put in group #'s but this did not help the boarding.
The ship is old and it appears that the recent upgrade was to improve the bottom line at the expense of customer satisfaction. A new policy, we were told, required passengers to request shampoo etc and ice. Some passengers did not know this throughout the trip. This is petty cost saving.
Food in the main dining room (my time) was pretty much standard fare but the selections on the menu were not as many as we are accustomed to. (we made three cruises this year). Most disturbing was the listing of 3 items for a fee ranging in cost from $15 to $35. This is strange and never before seen on any of over 20 cruises. It seems a big part of the recent renovation was adding four pay restaurants, more than on any recent ship. The most telling comment we heard was from two diamond table mates on three nights. This was "this is the worst RC trip we have ever experienced" and "hope to see you again, but not on this ship".
Cabin OK but dated.
Good access, convenient parking. Issues with boarding, computers shut down.
Visited the pier shopping and had some local refreshments which were good. We are not shoppers.
The swimming area on the ocean was well taken care of and the water was enjoyable. The food served in the buffet was marginal but OK for beachside.
