This was our first River Cruise. I am so thankful we picked Viking Odin. They were wonderful, from the pickup at the airport, checking into the Paris hotel, transportation to Trier for the River Cruise, checking into the hotel in Prague and then finally dropping us off at the airport. The Viking crew were wonderful. We could not say enough about the staff and how much they seemed to care that we were enjoying ourselves. Our cabin was spotless, Nicoletta was lovely and always made sure we were comfortable. Radim the Program Director was amazing. That guy never stopped - he really knows how to keep everything running smoothly and obviously loves his job. The dining was always spot on, everyone worked so well together and they all did a great job of bringing you things before you even thought you needed it. We were very happy with the food choices at each meal. The wines changed as we went through each region, the beers were excellent also. Unless you are really into a certain drink, the spirit package is really not necessary.

I think the excursions were handled very well, we had three different groups most of the time, leisure and two faster but not so fast you couldn't take the photos you would like. There was always some free time at each of the ports we stopped at.

We are in our 50's and had a great time - we look forward to another trip on Viking River Cruises.

Cabin Review

Veranda Superior

Cabin A

The room was spotless. Comfortable bed. The pillows could be upgraded but other than that we loved it. I loved the heated tile bathroom floor. I also loved that we could sit out on the balcony and just watch the world go by. Due to warmer than normal winter, there were times we could even open the doors and just let the fresh air in. There is plenty of storage for all your belongings.

Port Reviews

Nuremberg

Nuremburg has a mix of very sad history - we went to the area where the people marked and put on their "shows" for hitler. Drove past where the Nuremburg trials happened - had a fantastic history lesson from our guide. We then had shopping time and explore time at the local Christmas Market. The surrounding churches in the area are worth walking into - they are quite pretty. The market was one of the best on our trip.
