We admit that we have been spoiled by taking longer cruises on HAL. Our recent Caribbean adventure struck us ad average. We did not like the cabin's layout although its location on Deck 1 near the Atrium was fine. Dining room and cabin stewards lived up to the HAL standard, but we are tired of dodging staff in the Lido. Lido stewards should move out of the way to let passengers pass, not block the aisles or ramps leading to th seating areas.
We found service in the Ocean Bar to be slow, both in taking and filling drink orders. And we had to fight for the perks which have earned as 5 Star Mariners such as an internet discount and free Pinnacle dinners. Likewise, we were neither informed of nor offered 5 Star disembarkion upon the return to Port Everglades.
Despite our disappointments, we enjoyed our week thanks to the 3-year-old traveling with us.
We were disappointed with the cabin. The lighting by the closets was so poor that we gadget trouble seeing what we ad put on the shelves. We did not like the position of the beds [at a right angle from the door] nor the fact that the connecting-room door had to be forced past the end of the bed. The connecting door ad to be closed in order to see the television.
