Sail Date: Feb 2009
Cabin: Mid-Ship Balcony

We (Deb and Jack from Massachusetts) cruised to the Eastern Caribbean during the week of February 7, 2009. This was our sixth cruise, and our first with Norwegian. Our other cruises were taken on Royal Caribbean (4) and Celebrity (1). Since we had already had the experience of a cabin with a balcony, it was a 'must' for us again. The Norwegian Dawn is a nice ship, but definitely shows signs of age. Although the ship had approximately 2,000 passengers on board, it seemed smaller than that. Skip to "comments" section at the end of this review to find out if we would sail on this ship again.

Pre-night in Miami: We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Miami Springs. I suggest that a pre-night is a 'must' if you live in the snowy northeast like we do, and I would recommend the the Holiday Inn Express. It was a very clean, comfortable, and quiet hotel.

Arriving at Airport in Miami: We booked our own air arrangements and arrived in Miami without any trouble at all. We prefer booking our own air travel so we can choose times which are not an option if the cruise line books for you.
