Carnival Sensation Review

Unforgettable Vacation!

Review for the Bahamas Cruise on Carnival Sensation

My husband and I took our first cruise December 2015. Our room was on the Riveria (R) deck. We had a great ocean view room. Perfect size for just the two of us. It was nice and clean. The bed was actually really comfortable. I loved the serenity (21 and older) deck. Plenty of lounge chairs, 2 hottubs, and staff taking drink orders. I loved all the activities and entertainment on the ship. There was so much to choose from! -- something for all ages.We went to Freeport and Nassau and had an amazing time! Side note-- don't pay 100.00 for a beach day. At the port, you can catch a cab for $7 to the beach and spend the day. With plenty of fun rentals on the beach with a restaraunt/bar. In Nassau we did the snorkeling excursion which was super fun!

I felt the ship was a little dated, regardless of the recent renovations in 2009. The food was ok, but nothing spectacular. The dining room was nice and great food, but the alternative dining was mainly buffet style. It was a cafeteria/food court set up, with buffet style food. There were a couple different buffets which alternated the food style every day. Italian one day, Chinese the next, carribean etc. the pool and hottubs were always packed with children! But that's why I loved the serenity deck. This is advice coming from a young married couple with no kids. But there is plenty to do as a family as well. There are different "clubs" for teens. There's camp carnival which organizes activities for the younger kids. There were water slides and splash area for kids as well. Overall we had an amazing experience and I would definitely go again.
