We flew to Munich to spend 4 days on our own exploring before heading to Nuremberg to board the Prima on November 30th. This was our first riverboat cruise and we weren't sure what to expect. The ship itself was lovely and fully decorated for the Christmas holidays which added to the atmosphere. Embarkation very smooth, quick and easy. Baggage in our cabin quickly. The crew were wonderful. Couldn't ask for more there. Very attentive while not intrusive. It was very noticeable how many pitched in to help in all areas of running the ship and it was particularly nice to see the senior staff leading by doing things themselves and not just directing others.
The food was excellent all around. Very high standards.
We were in cabin 301 which is a suite and although much smaller to suites on the ocean going vessels we've travelled in, was very nice and just fine for this trip. No complaints. Nicely decorated, comfortable bed, plenty of storage. Didn't really use the balcony due to the cold but we'd expected that.
Cabin small by standards of the ocean vessels we've traveled on but more than adequate. Nicely furnished, plenty of storage. No complaints.
Bussed to Christmas Market and did walking tour. Guide very good.
Started to do walking tour but broke off on our own as we had something specific we were looking for. Easy walking area not far from ship. Lovely town and market.
Just did the bus from the ship into the city which drove around a bit. We'd spent time in Vienna before so once we reached the large market, we ventured out on our own.
Bus tour which dropped us off near St. Matthias Church. Guide excellent.
