We were on the Riviera for 20 days beginning 12/2, which was directly after the main Noro outbreak, and spent 19 more days in Code Red status (no sugar, salt/pepper, creamers,no pastries in Concierge lounge...no culinary classes except for last 4 days). This was our 3rd cruise with Oceania. Was on the main Cruise Critic Board, where another person was blogging live all the way across from Barcelona, so knew in advance the laundries would probably be shut down (so packed accordingly), and already was aware of some of their problems coming across, but looked at it with an open mind. Yes, the embarkation on Dec 2 was a mess, but I will make a bet Oceania will not make the same mistake twice, and in fact on our Dec 12 off/back on the ship, it was very different - even with increased sanitation process again..We disembarked at 9:45, went directly back upstairs to the embarkation lounge (where yes, they had juices, coffee, and water available), and reboarded at 11!
The crew worked day and night cleaning, sterilizing, serving, cleaning more, etc. I cannot say enough about their overall cheerfulness, and attempted helpfulness on this cruise, they were truly trying to please everyone for every need and want (just sometimes didn't know how to).
Our cabin steward Gede (9th floor Concierge Class) was absolutely outstanding and never ceased to amaze us with the Little things like anticipating our every need.
Cabin was dead center of ship. No movement, no noise. Good size, especially since we had previously been on the smaller 'R' ships, the room was larger, and the bathroom size was larger. Just didn't need the tub. Just didn't think the price for concierge level was justified based on lack of amenities in concierge lounge.
