My first cruise - a present from my family as a combined big birthday present and beating cancer. My husband and I hadn't gotten away in years so we were looking forward to all the fabulous food and service we were told was experienced on a cruise. We took the adult beverage package and I inquired through a phone call to Norwegian what do people to about bottled water. I was told to download an extrea luggage tag and tape to the case I could leave with the luggage. Didn't happen - my husband with a bad back - carried the case of water to our room. We were told by the person collecting the luggage that you have to buy Norwegian's water - he could not put it with the luggage. I did not make this up - I followed the directions received from Norwegian.

Room was beautiful - balcony great. Couch was dirty - worn. We did find a receipt from the former occupant on the floor by the bed which gave me a bit of the skeeves. Our room steward - Jesus "Jess" was very accomodating. Loved the towel animals. No midnight buffets - dissapointment. No lobster - dissapointment. Loved the hamburger with pineapple at the pool and the food at the complimentary Ginza. We came back to room intense smell of smoke. We went to guest services where my husband was reprimanded for not calling from the room. We never were told what the outcome was.

One bartender had attitude when getting drinks. He demanded the two room cards - one for me and my husband. Not nice. We are still waiting to hear back regarding the excursion in Belize from the snorkling adventure. Due to extreme current snorkling was not enjoyable. The guides kyacks capsized. Haven't heard about a refund. There was a definate language barrier with the staff. The assistant cruise directior - took us on the ship tour - at the spa he told the group the use of the whirlpool and steam room are complimentary. He left and the Madiera spa person took over and told us he is wrong there is a 139.00 fee for the week. Later on we saw him and we told him - he said yea I know its free on Carnival.

Loved the experience. Unexpectantly had to buy pics since underwater camera not allowed. Ship should have told us.
